Just American News got a chance to interview actor, screenwriter and producer Ariel Lavi. We got insights into his films, his upcoming projects and much more!
Q. First of all it is great to have you on Just American News! Could you please tell us about your journey as an actor and how did you embark on this path?
Ariel Lavi: It all started when I was 15 years old. I started my career in the Studio Theatre at Haifa and experienced many genres like Shakespeare, Muller, American plays, and so on. I studied acting at Lee Strasberg Film & Theatre Institute and screenwriting at a few universities in the UK and now I’m producing many films in Israel and all over the world.
Q. Your new film Race is nominated at many film festivals. Please tell us about your film and the inspiration behind making it.
Ariel Lavi: It’s a short film I produced, Shahar Gaham directed and scripted by Maya Roethler Edry. This film was nominated in the ImproAction film festival which was released in Israel and it qualified for the final stage and I am really proud of that film. It was hard because our actress was infected with COVID but we had luck so we got permission to reschedule the submission. I don’t like to do spoilers so I invite you to watch my film.
Q. Another interesting project of yours is In House. Kindly share your experience in regard to that film.
Ariel Lavi: It was a 2 minutes short film I produced and did the casting for. We submitted the film to the “Habayta” film festival. It’s an international film festival. The referees were Ayelet Zorer, Nancy Spielberg, and so on. It was an amazing experience.
Q. Please tell our readers about what motivates you to stay creative and produce such amazing films!
Ariel Lavi: I like to tell stories that can impact our society. I believe through films we can make people think.
Q. What are your future plans when it comes to producing films under your production house Golden Space Entertainment?
Ariel Lavi: I opened a film production company called Golden Space Entertainment in LA with a partner Shahar Gaham – a Director, and a Video Editor. We started our way a few months ago. We are producing 3 films soon.
Q. Lastly, do you have any closing thoughts that you would like to share with the world and our readers?
Ariel Lavi: I’m working hard on many films that will produce soon.
