Just American News recently got a chance to interview author Yara Banks in regard to her book The Executive Blind Spot. We got insights into her book, her source of inspiration and much more!

Q1. Welcome! How are you doing?

Thank you for having me! I’m doing fantastic and thrilled to be here with you. It’s such an exciting time with the launch of my book, The Executive Blindspot. I’m grateful for this opportunity to connect with your readers and share my journey.

Q2. Your book is now available on Amazon! Please tell our readers about your book The Executive Blind Spot.

The Executive Blindspot is a deep dive into how misalignment between leadership vision and HR strategies can quietly erode an organization’s success. It uncovers the hidden challenges—what I call “blindspots”—that cost businesses time, talent, and revenue. But it’s more than just identifying problems; this book offers practical, actionable solutions to align people, processes, and purpose.

It’s written for leaders who want to elevate their workforce strategy and turn HR into a profit-driving powerhouse. Whether you’re a seasoned executive, an HR professional, or a business owner, this book will help you bridge the gap between vision and execution to create sustainable growth.

Q3. What motivated and inspired you to write this book?

Throughout my 25+ years in HR and leadership, I’ve seen the same challenges across industries: well-intentioned leaders struggling to connect their vision with their workforce. I’ve worked with companies that had incredible potential but were held back by blindspots they didn’t even realize existed.

This book is my way of helping leaders uncover those blindspots and take actionable steps to fix them. It was also inspired by the countless conversations I’ve had with leaders who wanted to align their teams but didn’t know where to start. Writing The Executive Blindspot felt like the best way to give them the tools to succeed.

Q4. Any tips or advice for aspiring writers?

Absolutely! First, start with your purpose—why are you writing this book, and who do you want to help? That clarity will guide you through the entire process.

Second, don’t wait for perfection. Write your first draft knowing it’s just that—a draft. You’ll refine and improve it later. Lastly, embrace the power of storytelling. Whether you’re writing fiction or nonfiction, stories resonate with readers. Share experiences, insights, and lessons in a way that makes your message relatable and impactful.

Q5. What’s next? Which book or project are you working on now?

Right now, my focus is on supporting the launch of The Executive Blindspot and helping leaders apply its principles through speaking engagements, workshops, and training sessions. I’m passionate about seeing leaders and organizations grow and thrive, which is why I’ve also developed programs and tools to help them implement these strategies immediately.

Looking ahead, I’m brainstorming ideas for the next book—possibly exploring the intersection of leadership, culture, and innovation. Whatever comes next, my mission remains the same: to empower leaders to grow their people, their teams, and ultimately, their organizations so they can thrive in every way possible.

Q6. Finally, as we ask all our guests, do you have any closing thoughts that you would like to share with the world and our readers?

Yes, I’d like to leave your readers with this thought: Leadership isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about being open to uncovering the gaps, learning from them, and aligning your team to a shared vision.
Success isn’t just about profits or accolades; it’s about the impact you make on the people you lead and the legacy you leave behind. So, whether you’re leading a company, a team, or even just yourself, don’t be afraid to look inward, embrace the blindspots, and turn them into stepping stones for growth.
Thank you for having me on Jukebox Mind—it’s been an absolute pleasure!
