Just American News recently got a chance to interview author Ryan Vet in regard to his book Speak Goodr. We got insights into his book, his source of inspiration and much more!

Q1. Welcome! How are you doing?

I’m feeling incredibly excited and humbled by the huge traction Speak Goodr has received so far. I’m also deeply grateful for the countless Hall of Fame speakers and speaking legends who have reviewed and supported the book—it’s been an amazing journey.

Q2. Your book Speak Goodr is garnering amazing reviews! Please tell our readers about your book.

Thank you! Speak Goodr is a candid, humorous, and practical look at the world of professional speaking. It’s not your typical how-to book. Instead, it’s filled with real-life stories, laugh-out-loud moments, and actionable advice for anyone who wants to make their message heard and connect with an audience.

Professional speaking isn’t just about standing in front of people; it’s about creating impact and making a living by inspiring others. This book dives into the behind-the-scenes realities of the profession—mistakes, successes, and everything in between. With a full-color interior and playful illustrations of Goodr Guy, it’s designed to be both fun to read and practical to apply.

As Hall of Fame Speaker Mark LeBlanc said, “It is real. It is raw. It is relevant. And it is hilarious!” I think that sums it up perfectly!

Q3. What motivated and inspired you to write this book?

I’ve been a professional speaker for many years, and one of the most common questions I get is, “How did you get started?” The truth is, the road to professional speaking is often messy, unpredictable, and full of lessons you can only learn by doing.

I wanted to share those stories—not just the polished, stage-ready moments, but the hilarious and humbling ones, too. My goal was to pull back the curtain on the profession and show that anyone can step into this space with the right mindset and tools. If this book can help someone take their first step into speaking or inspire them to share their story, then it’s done its job.

Q4. Any tips or advice for aspiring writers?
Absolutely! First, focus on your “why.” Why are you writing this book? What message do you want to share with the world?

Having a clear purpose will guide every decision you make.

Second, start small. Writing a book can feel overwhelming, but if you break it into bite-sized pieces—just like Speak Goodr is written—it becomes much more manageable.

Finally, connect with others who’ve been through the process. Whether you join a writing group or a program like my 100 Day Book Challenge, having accountability and guidance can make all the difference.

Q5. What’s next? Which book or project are you working on now?

I’m thrilled to share that the second book in my Jungle Gems children’s series, titled OBEY, is coming out on June 1. It’s a story that teaches valuable life lessons through friendly, approachable characters that resonate with kids.

I’m also continuing to work with aspiring speakers through my program, So You Want to Speak. It’s designed to help thought leaders break into the world of professional speaking, share their stories, and make an impact.

Q6. Finally, as we ask all our guests, do you have any closing thoughts that you would like to share with the world and our readers?

If you’ve ever thought about writing a book or stepping into professional speaking, please reach out!

There are opportunities waiting for thought leaders, whether it’s through my 100 Day Book Challenge to get published or my programs like So You Want to Speak.

Everyone has a story worth sharing, and the world needs more voices that inspire, connect, and make a difference. Don’t let fear or uncertainty hold you back—your message matters.

Thank you!
Thank you! It’s been an honor to join you. I hope Speak Goodr inspires readers to find their voice, embrace their journey, and maybe even laugh a little along the way.
