Michael Benji Darula Smalls, better known by his stage name “Benji DaRula” is blowing up fast. Benji DaRula was born on July 9th, 1986, in Columbia, South Carolina. As a youth, Benji participated in many performing arts programs and performances. From a young age, it was certain that Benji was talented and has a strong passing for music and creativity. Benji was student body president, an honors string / electric bass player. He was involved in drama and acting; and school community pageants. It was clear from a young age that Benji would be a star. He continued to evolve as a musical artist throughout college. During his sophomore year of high school, Benji moved to Jamaica Queens, New York and became better acquainted with his father’s side of the family. Out of two hundred students, Benji was one of them selected to graduate from Frank Sinatra School Of The Arts first graduating class. The prestigious school for creative students is based in Long Island City, Queens, New York and still thriving today. He attended and participated in Drama/Theatre & Instrumental Music programs. Upon finishing high school, Benji went to Benedict College & majored in mass Communications / Broadcasting.
Most recently Benji has just dropped another interview talking about some important topics with weru radio (lgbt). The “SWERV” video is now at over twenty-five thousand views. He also recently did the music video for “Choppa”.
