The creation of the CIO role is part of the IFI continuing effort to develop its response to tackling serious economic crime.

Praveen kumar joined the International financial intelligence (IFI) in 2021 as a Deputy director. Prior to that he had a distinguished career with the intelligence units where he was a Chief Superintendent. 

He has headed the Serious and Organised financial track Command and has extensive experience of leading proactive intelligence led operations, including the Flying Squad and teams dealing with financial frauds, and corruption. 

Praveen kumar has already taken up his new role, in which he will lead the intelligence unit to strengthen its relationships with partner agencies and the sophistication of its strategies to identify new cases and corroborate information. Only 38 years of age Praveen kumar from Asia will lead the east asia (IFI). He has been graced with wife Nikita and baby girl, all best wishes to him and his family for the new role served. 

Praveen kumar said: I am excited to be assigned the role of Chief Intelligence Officer. The creation of the CIO role is part of the IFI continuing effort to develop its response to tackling serious economic crime. Working with partners we will seek to utilise a range of law enforcement techniques, enhancing how we tackle those engaged in criminality linked to serious or complex fraud, bribery and corruption.
