Q. Your book ‘Seraphina’s Dream Adventure’ is a captivating mix of fantasy and life lessons. What personal experiences led you to explore these themes of dreaming big and practicing kindness in your narrative?
My encounters with diverse cultures or travel experiences that instilled a belief in the importance of dreaming big and practicing kindness across different backgrounds. These experiences help influenced the narrative, weaving in a sense of cultural understanding and empathy. As an author, I also faced personal adversities and found solace in the power of dreaming big and the transformative impact of kindness from others. Sharing how these challenges shaped the narrative can provide readers with a deeper connection to the themes explored in “Seraphina’s Dream Adventure.” My involvement in charitable work or community projects that inspired the exploration of kindness in the book. Real-life instances of making a positive impact on others might have fuelled the desire to incorporate similar values into the fictional world of “Seraphina’s Dream Adventure.” I also faced a career transition and pursued an unconventional path. My personal experience of dreaming big, overcoming obstacles, and encountering kindness along the way, serve as a foundation for the themes in this book. This real-life journey, mirrored in the protagonist’s quest within “Seraphina’s Dream Adventure.”

First and foremost, consistency stands as the linchpin to mastery. Whether in endeavors personal or professional, regular dedication of time fosters excellence. Diversity in reading is another cornerstone of enrichment. The exploration of various genres and styles not only broadens horizons but also deepens the understanding of storytelling and narrative techniques. Such literary exploration becomes a beacon for those aspiring to refine their creative craft. Constructive criticism, often feared but immensely valuable, forms the third pillar of wisdom. The ability to accept feedback gracefully is not only crucial for aspiring writers but for anyone on a journey of improvement.
In the realm of creation, the advice to “write freely, edit later” serves as a liberating mantra. Allowing ideas to flow without the burden of perfection during the initial stages can lead to more authentic and uninhibited expressions. Consuming nutritious foods, maintaining gut health, staying hydrated, and engaging in regular exercise contributes with my creativity. Engaging in regular physical activity, like a morning walk, stimulates both body and mind, fostering a conducive environment for creative thinking. Additionally, dedicating a specific time each day to creative pursuits, even if it’s just for a short duration, ensures a consistent flow of ideas. Disconnecting from digital distractions during these creative intervals also proves essential. Finally, before concluding the day, I make it a practice to jot down any lingering thoughts or ideas that surfaced during the day, providing a reservoir of inspiration for future endeavors.
Q. What’s next? Which books or projects are you working on now?
I’m currently immersed in the creation of my upcoming book, “Pearla and the Enchanting Mermaid.” This heartwarming tale revolves around Pearla, a devoted mother, and her ten children in a quaint village. The family, led by Pearla and her husband Woon, a skilled chef, finds joy in their daily routine of washing clothes by the lake. The narrative takes a magical turn when Pearla encounters Narima, a mermaid, during a solitary visit to the lake. Narima, moved by Pearla’s kindness, bestows upon her a magical pearl bracelet, unlocking a captivating underwater world. As Pearla and Narima embark on a mesmerizing journey, the story unfolds with encounters with underwater creatures, exploration of hidden treasures, and the formation of a profound bond. “Pearla and the Enchanting Mermaid” beautifully captures the harmony between land and sea, emphasizing the magic found in family, friendship, and the culinary delights crafted by Woon. While there’s a lineup of books in progress, the gradual collaboration with my illustrator ensures each project receives the attention and care it deserves, bringing these enchanting stories to life.
